{"id":15799,"date":"2025-09-19T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-09-18T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mtgambiertimes\/?p=15799"},"modified":"2025-09-17T15:06:15","modified_gmt":"2025-09-17T05:06:15","slug":"makin-goes-back-to-back","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mtgambiertimes\/sport\/makin-goes-back-to-back\/","title":{"rendered":"Makin goes back-to-back"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE Kowree Naracoorte Tatiara Netball Association Presentation Day was held on September 14 with Keith\u2019s Sophie Makin taking out the A grade best and fairest from Charlee Taheny (Kybybolite).<\/p>\n<p>Makin (pictured) won her second straight A grade best and fairest with 21 votes, from Taheny 19 votes, while third was Jessica Bittner (Border Districts) 18 votes.<\/p>\n<p>Makin was also the winner of the Rhonda Kellock Memorial Award for the most votes by an Under 21 player in the A grade.<\/p>\n<p>Trudy Lane and Melanie Gear (both from Lucindale) were joint best and fairest in the A Reserves with 21 votes.<\/p>\n<p>Equal runner ups were Katherine Mott (Naracoorte) and Mia Dowling (Mundulla) 17 votes and equal most consistent were Catherine Ledo and Belinda Sinclair (both from Naracoorte) 16 votes.<\/p>\n<p>Border Districts\u2019 Aleisha Rintoule was the winner in the B Grade with 22 votes. Runner up was Laticia Dick (Keith) 21; joint Most consistent were Dayna Jolly (Bordertown, Noni Obst (Mundulla) and Kasey Venables (Padthaway) 18.<\/p>\n<p>The C Grade award went to equal winners Emma Doulton (Border Districts) and Madeline Moss (Kybybolite) 24 votes. Equal Runner ups were Rebecca Christie (Kingston) and Jessica Turnbull (Keith) 19; most consistent Elyssa Hausler (Keith) 15.<\/p>\n<p><strong>JUNIOR AWARD WINNERS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Division 1:<\/strong> Best and fairest, Georgie Midwinter (Naracoorte) 32 votes; runner up Tori Evans (Keith) 23; most consistent, Mackenzie Burke (Border Districts) 22.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Division 2:<\/strong> Best and fairest, Elsie Orton (Padthaway) 24 votes; runner up, Pippa Morcom (Keith) 23; most consistent, Jessica Zwart (Kingston) 20.<\/p>\n<p>13 &amp; Under A: Best and fairest, Kristal Evans (Keith) 24 votes; runner up, Jorja Walker (Naracoorte) 23; most consistent, Lillian Wiese (Mundulla) 21.2025<\/p>\n<p><strong>TEAM OF THE YEAR<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>GS \u2013 Eliza Grenvold (Mundulla), GA \u2013 Charlee Taheny (Kybybolite), WA \u2013 Mel Makin (Keith), C \u2013 Ella Jones (Lucindale), WD \u2013 Matilda Berry (Keith), GD \u2013 Tillee Jones (Keith), GK \u2013 Emily Burgess (Mundulla).
