{"id":15993,"date":"2025-10-03T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-10-02T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mtgambiertimes\/?p=15993"},"modified":"2025-10-01T14:34:19","modified_gmt":"2025-10-01T04:34:19","slug":"redevelopment-vision-unveiled","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mtgambiertimes\/sport\/redevelopment-vision-unveiled\/","title":{"rendered":"Redevelopment vision unveiled"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A VISION for Island Park has been set, following the endorsement of a key document.<\/p>\n<p>At the September Council Meeting Councillors adopted the Island Park Master Plan setting a clear direction for the future of one of Casterton\u2019s most important community, recreational and tourism spaces.<\/p>\n<p>The Master Plan outlines a 10\u201315 year vision for the popular reserve, providing a roadmap for future development and infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>Glenelg Shire Mayor Cr Karen Stephens said the Master Plan was a critical step in ensuring Island Park continues to thrive as a multi-use precinct.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIsland Park is at the heart of so many community activities in Casterton\u2014whether it\u2019s sport, recreation, camping or major events. In fact, it is one of the most utilised assets in our Shire, being home to ten licenced user groups,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis Master Plan provides a clear framework to help us prioritise upgrades, seek grant funding and deliver improvements that meet the current and future needs of our community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn behalf of Council, I want to thank every community member, club and stakeholder who took the time to share their views and aspirations as part of the consultation process. This feedback has shaped the final document and ensures Island Park remains a diverse and functional space for all.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe look forward to working with stakeholders, funding partners and our local community to help deliver on this vision.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Master Plan outlines future projects such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Flood lighting additions to existing tennis and netball courts;<\/li>\n<li>Improved pedestrian paths and connections throughout the precinct;<\/li>\n<li>Flood mitigation actions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Island Park Master Plan can be viewed via the Your Say Glenelg website.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A VISION for Island Park has been set, following the endorsement of a key document.
