With hands-on activities for kids and families, the aim is to show how everyone can play a role in caring for their local environment.<\/p>\n<p>Eddie the Eel \u2013 Mount Gambier, Yahl and Millicent, 4, 9 and 11 October<\/p>\n<p>Families can also join Eddie the Eel from Eight Mile Creek, part of the state-wide Nature Festival. Told through drawings and narration by students from Yahl Primary School, Eddie\u2019s story explains the incredible migration of the Short-finned Eel and highlights the importance of protecting aquatic habitat. With sessions running in Mount Gambier, Yahl and Millicent, it\u2019s a great way to learn about one of the region\u2019s unique species.<\/p>\n<p>These events promise school holiday fun with a twist\u2013keeping kids busy, curious and outdoors, while quietly sneaking in a love for their local waterways.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Event details:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Eddie the Eel from Eight Mile Creek \u2013 Saturday 4 October (Mount Gambier), Thursday 9 October (Yahl), Saturday 11 October (Millicent)<\/p>\n<p>All events are free, but bookings are essential.
