THE Mount Gambier Golf Club held a hugely successful Open Day at the weekend, thanks in no small part to the generous sponsors, She\u2019s Apples and Woolworths, who contributed to the day, with Carissa Richards from major sponsor Bryson Wines (Jip Jip Rocks) presented the trophies.<\/p>\n

The day also owed a lot to the many devoted volunteers who assisted in the bar, kitchen and finalising the results.<\/p>\n

The lunch and afternoon tea were delicious particularly the hot soup to help warm up after halfway round.<\/p>\n

The conditions were still rather difficult with the strong winds and some showers during the day which we have had the past week or so.<\/p>\n

Fifty-five players from a variety of the region\u2019s clubs took part in the day – Beachport, Blue Lake, Kingston, Lucindale, Millicent and Naracoorte club s were p represented with members of Hamilton and Portland from Victoria also taking to the course.<\/p>\n

There were16 A grade players 0 \u2013 18 handicap and they played a stroke round .<\/p>\n

B, C and D grades had 39 players and they contested a stableford round.<\/p>\n
