LAST week the prestigious medal of medals for six of the nine monthly medal winners throughout the year was run in conjunction with a stroke round for the rest of the women at the Blue Lake Golf Club.<\/p>\n
The monthly medal winners were Karen Panagopoulos (2) Trudy Herbert (2) Josie Ashby, Sue Agars, Rosemary Martland (2) and Annette Ford.<\/p>\n
The perpetual trophy is named in honour of Patricia Fallas and the winner was Karen Panagopoulos with nett 68 who will be presented at the end of year presentations.<\/p>\n
Helen Myers topped the podium in the individual prize winners for Division One after signing for a awesome 86\/20\/66.<\/p>\n
The weather finally turned it on for the 27 women and the scores painted the picture of a perfect golfing day.<\/p>\n
Myers final signing showed her playing five strokes under her handicap after four pars in her outward 42 strokes and two in her inward 44.<\/p>\n
Closely following was the medal winner Karen Panagopoulos placed second with also a great score of 91\/23\/68 with pars on the 5th, 9th, 12th and 13th holes in her splits of 4744.<\/p>\n
Rosemary Martland took the third prize voucher after a countback from Dianne Perryman 93\/24\/69 and Sue Agars 92\/34\/69. Martland\u2019s 74\/15\/69 included pars on the 12th and 17th holes along with birdies on the 14th and 16th in her splits of 45\/39.<\/p>\n
The winner in Division Two was a regular placegetter Vivienne Wilson finishing even to the card posting 107\/36\/71 with pars recorded on the 2nd and 5th holes in her outward 54 strokes and 53 strokes on the inward nine the scores were good enough for the win as she was followed closely by Lesley McPherson 107\/35\/72.<\/p>\n
No pars were recorded but splits of 55\/52 was all she needed to sign for only one over her handicap.<\/p>\n
Third placegetter was Beryl Mahoney 107\/33\/74 starting off with a good outward 50 strokes to falter a little on the inward nine shooting 57 strokes.<\/p>\n
Nearest to the pin 2nd shot on the par three 2nd hole winners were Jaynee Oberer (.20cms) and Wilson (1.71).<\/p>\n
The pro shot winner on the 5th was Lyn Gill (6.90). Birdie prizes awarded to Martland 14th & 16th and chip-in ferret prizes to Panagopolous 9th, Gill 11th and Martland 16th.<\/p>\n
