With more than three decades of experience capturing wild soundscapes across the globe, Andrew\u2019s work has featured in documentaries and films including Peter Gabriel\u2019s Rabbit Proof Fence soundtrack.<\/p>\n
City of Mount Gambier community development coordinator Kristi Brooks said Andrew\u2019s presentations were an immersive weaving of evocative recordings accompanied by the projection of images and spectrograms, allowing the audience to see the structure and beauty of sound.<\/p>\n
Throughout the past decade, he has been giving presentations to audiences ranging from community groups and universities, and at festivals including WOMADelaide\u2019s Plant Talk and TEDx in Canberra.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn his book Deep Listening to Nature, Andrew invites us to open our ears to the natural world and connect more deeply to nature, to be still and listen,\u201d Mrs Brooks said. \u201cHe will guide you into hearing the communications of nature; of developing your listening skills, identifying species by ear, recognising behaviours and repertoire, and finding empathy with the voices of other beings.<\/p>\n
