THE City of Mount Gambier has unveiled a bold advocacy plan, outlining its vision to develop its reputation as South Australia\u2019s world-class regional capital and a driving force for economic, social and cultural transformation across the Limestone Coast.<\/p>\n
The plan highlights Mount Gambier\u2019s $9\u202fbillion regional economy, innovative industries, skilled workforce and strategic cross-border location, positioning the city as a key growth engine for the state.<\/p>\n
Mayor Lynette Martin said the plan sets out a clear roadmap for partnership and investment.<\/p>\n

Council is calling for strong partnerships with the State Government and key stakeholders to deliver transformative projects that will accelerate growth and community wellbeing.<\/p>\n
Priority funding requests include:<\/strong><\/p>\n $660,000 for CBD activation.<\/p>\n $4.5\u202fmillion for community spaces.<\/p>\n $250,000 towards cultural heritage management planning.<\/p>\n $400,000 for event infrastructure and promotion.<\/p>\n \u201cThis plan calls for co-investment to accelerate projects that connect our CBD, strengthen community hubs and showcase our city\u2019s culture and events,\u201d Mayor Martin said.<\/p>\n \u201cOur priority is delivery. With state partnership, these projects can move from concept to construction.\u201d<\/p>\n The plan builds on significant progress already made, including the opening of the Wulanda Recreation and Convention Centre and community facilities such as the Rail Trail.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve laid the groundwork. The next step is to knit these assets into a more active, welcoming inner-city precinct,\u201d Mayor Martin said.<\/p>\n
