WITH the festive season upon us, the Borderline Speedway is delivering incredible action for motorsport lovers with consecutive weekends of high octane events.<\/p>\n
Sunday, December 28, sees the sprintcars in town with the Glenburnie track set to host Round 3 of Brandt\u2019s Speedweek, hot on the heels of Bordertown\u2019s Tolmer Speedway hosting round 2 on December 27.<\/p>\n
Speedweek kicks off on Murray Bridge on Boxing Day, with the series rounding out with the December 30 meeting at Avalon and the series finale at Premier Speedway at Warrnambool on New Year\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n
Brandt Sprintcar Speedweek this year will carry an additional collective $25,000 in prize and points fund monies taking the 2025\/2026 tournament to a record-breaking total (in excess of $250,000) across the five nights.<\/p>\n
Promoters of Murray Bridge Speedway, Tolmer Speedway, Borderline Speedway, Avalon Raceway and Premier Speedway agreed to the $25,000 increase that will now see $10,000 to win all A-Mains \u2013 up from $8000 to win each event last season.<\/p>\n
Within that $25,000 increase also comes a further $15,000 added to the points fund for the top ten finishing teams making it $15,000 to win the series, which sees the points fund now boasting $40,000.<\/p>\n
Scott Enderl, Glen Sutherland (pictured) and Daniel Pestka, in the locally owned Stark car, will fly the flag for Mount Gambier in what is a star studded field that includes former Australian champion Lockie McHugh.<\/p>\n
Bordertown will also have a hometown hero to cheer on at the Tolmer track, as well as throughout the five round series, with Dylan Jenking part of the Brandt Sprintcar Speedweek roadshow.<\/p>\n
Queensland\u2019s Brock Hallett, brothers Marcus and Matt Dumesny, brothers Daniel and Luke Storer, Dylan Menz and Max Guilford all add to the star power of the December 28 event and Speedweek more generally.<\/p>\n
Peter Doukas and Ryan Jones, who won a leg of this series in 2024, also add depth and class to the field, as does Wodonga\u2019s Grant Anderson.<\/p>\n
Young guns Jy Corbet and Ryan Newton will also add some youthful exuberance to the Speedweek field.<\/p>\n
Aside from the Speedweek naming rights sponsor Brandt, local sponsors Coates Hire, The Distributors and South East Fire Extinguishers are all supporting the December 28 meeting.<\/p>\n
The modlites are stepping up as the support class for December 28 and they will kick off at 5pm followed by the time trials, heats and finals of the sprintcar racing.<\/p>\n
The January 3 meeting is also a Speedweek event, this time for the Formula 500, with both senior and junior drivers set to hit the Borderline track.<\/p>\n
Through local Jordan Mansell, two United States based drivers will be competing \u2013 Stan Yockey and Nikko Banella \u2013 with Mount Gambier\u2019s Anthony Beare heading the local charge.<\/p>\n
The January 3 meeting will also see a Borderline first, with the compact speedcars making their debut appearance, with some familiar speedway names, Calen Mills, Terry Brown and Toby Brown, part of the field nominated for this support class.<\/p>\n
