THE Mount Gambier Gun Club held its Christmas competition on Saturday in fine conditions with the sun appearing most of the day, with the shooters obtained some commendable high scores.<\/p>\n
The opening event was the O\u2019Connor and Graney 25 Tgt Christmas Double Barrel Championship.<\/p>\n
This competition was shot with great accuracy as the competitors were eager to win the premium legs of ham that were on offer as prizes.<\/p>\n
Many shooters attained perfect scores and after numerous shoot offs eventually the winners were Jamie Dunn 47\/47 in top form won AA from Warren Lindner 46\/47 and Max Medhurst 42\/43.<\/p>\n
Ken Atkin 24\/25 outshot Nick Rishworth 23\/25 and Matthew Robinson 44\/47 to win A, Mick Little 24\/25 edged out Garry Allison 33\/35 and Andrew Aldersey 32\/35 to claim B Grade and with a perfect score Peter Klieve 25\/25 won C from Matthew Jones28\/30 and Robert Marcato 27\/30.<\/p>\n
The Koonara Wines 20 Tgt Side by Side special event was shot with great enthusiasm as the shooters were eager to win the top selection of premium wines available.<\/p>\n
The shooters had to use the old side by side barrelled shotguns which they rarely compete with testing their skills and again some shoot offs were needed.<\/p>\n
Scott Fleming showing his accuracy with a perfect 26\/26 won overall, Gavin Height 27\/29 after a shoot off won AA grade from Dougal Simson 26\/29, with a top score of 20\/20 seeing Matthew Robinson winning A Grade from Nick Rishworth 18\/20.<\/p>\n
Scott Fleming 20\/20 just edged out Declan Wright 19\/20 to win B and Mark Fabris 19\/20 narrowly won C from Robert Marcato 18\/20.<\/p>\n
The Dunn School of Shooting 20 Pr Deauville Doubles was decided by a shoot off and the combination of Max Medhurst and Matthew Jones, with a perfect score of 25\/25, just outshot Warren Lindner and Malcom McGrice 24\/25 followed by Andrew Jenkins and Garry Allison 23\/24.<\/p>\n
The Annie Oakley special event, sponsored by Tom Megaw, was eventually won by Stuart Bowd The South East Autotrade Highgun Award was won by Jamie Dunn with a top score of 43\/45.<\/p>\n
The 2025 Yearly Club Aggregate was successfully won by Andrew Hoare, with the South East Autotrade Yearly Highgun award also taken home byAndrew Hoare, who was the most consistently accurate shooter over all of the events this year.<\/p>\n
