GLENELG Shire is set to become a leader in renewable energy with the Victorian Government approving the Kentbruck Green Power Hub near Nelson.<\/p>\n
This landmark project will deliver cleaner, cheaper energy for Victoria while driving investment, creating jobs, and supporting growth across our region\u2014from Nelson to Portland and surrounding communities.<\/p>\n
The 600-megawatt wind farm will feature up to 105 turbines, generating approximately 2,000 gigawatt hours of renewable energy annually\u2014enough to power around 380,000 homes.<\/p>\n
This project represents a significant investment in Glenelg Shire\u2019s future, creating 350 jobs during construction and supporting 14 ongoing roles once operational.<\/p>\n
The project will also contribute to regional energy security, which is important for major investors and employers such as the Portland Aluminium Smelter, reinforcing Glenelg Shire as a hub for industry and innovation.<\/p>\n
Beyond jobs and investment, the Kentbruck Green Power Hub positions Glenelg Shire as a destination for sustainable growth.<\/p>\n
