THE Port MacDonnell Bowling Club held its Singles Championships earlier this month.<\/p>\n
The Ladies Singles Championship was sponsored by The Sign Depot and Custom Kit Kitchens.<\/p>\n
Eight ladies nominated for the championship singles with Heather Richards defeating Sharon Perryman and Karen Petersen to go through to the grand final and Sherie Richards had to overcome Carol Janeway and Julie Beaman in both very close matches to play off against an all-Richards final.<\/p>\n
Heather started strongly winning the first four ends before Sherie was on the card, scores 9 – 1 .<\/p>\n
After some very close heads on the 13th end Sherie won four ends in a row to see the score at 21-10 but Heather was always in control winning 25 – 13.<\/p>\n
The Men\u2019s Single Championships had 14 nominations and was sponsored by Gebhardts Real Estate and Ashbrook Diesel.<\/p>\n
Adam Wilson had a win against Graham Lucas, Bruce Bain and Lindsay Moyle to reach the final and Tim Wrightson had a bye in the first round then defeated Chris Negline and Eddy Smith (retired) to get into the final.<\/p>\n
Both players bowled very well with Tim winning the first two ends getting a great start then Adam winning the next four with scores being 11 -4 on the eighth end.<\/p>\n
Tim then won a few ends in a row making the score 16-11 on the 16th but Adam slowly moved ahead to win 25-13.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
