{"id":18639,"date":"2026-04-13T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-04-12T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mtgambiertimes\/?p=18639"},"modified":"2026-04-08T14:44:59","modified_gmt":"2026-04-08T04:44:59","slug":"council-outlines-priorities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mtgambiertimes\/news\/council-outlines-priorities\/","title":{"rendered":"Council outlines priorities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>DISTRICT Council of Grant has released its Advocacy Plan 2026, outlining a suite of transformative projects for which Council is seeking funding.<\/p>\n<p>The Plan was endorsed at the Ordinary Council Meeting on 16 February 2026 and solidifies Council\u2019s vision for its priority projects into one document.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Projects detailed in the Plan include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Upgrades to the Mount Gambier &amp; District Saleyards,<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Security screening infrastructure at the Mount Gambier Regional Airport,<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Community Wastewater Management Systems serving Donovans Landing, Dry Creek and Reed Bed,<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 A Sinkhole Masterplan to protect, manage and activate the district\u2019s sinkholes and karst landscapes, and<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 The Limestone Coast Connective Trails Masterplan for a coastal trail corridor linking Coonawarra to Port MacDonnell.<\/p>\n<p>These key focus areas were identified as priorities in Council\u2019s Strategic Plan 2024-2034, informed by elected members and in consultation with stakeholders and the broader community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re preparing for the future of our region,\u201d said District Council of Grant Mayor Kylie Boston.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDistrict Council of Grant is primed for growth. The projects outlined in the Advocacy Plan ensure that our economy can thrive and our infrastructure can support whatever comes next.
