NINTEEN pairs of lady golfers participated in the difficult Foursomes Competitions last Wednesday at the Mount Gambier Golf Club, once again generously sponsored by Bruhn Stone.<\/p>\n
The prestigious Club Championship Foursomes was won by Jennifer Van Rijthoven and Helen Heaver (Handicap 14.5) with a great score of 87 off the stick.<\/p>\n
Their split for the two nines was 42\/45=87.<\/p>\n
The pair played very consistent golf and included six pars on their card.<\/p>\n
Only one shot behind with 88 off the stick was the pairing of Carol Davis and Denise Harvey (Handicap 17.5).<\/p>\n
The women\u2019s back nine was exceptional with 41 off the stick and their score included a birdie on the Par 3, 8th Hole plus five pars.<\/p>\n
Carol Davis and Denise Harvey (Handicap 17.5) won the Handicap State Event, taking home the Shylie Rymill Medals, which will be presented at the end of the year presentation night.<\/p>\n
As previously mentioned Carol and Denise had 47\/41=88=Nett 70.5 a really good result for the foursome format.<\/p>\n
In second place in the Shylie Rymill Event was Rosalie Hunt and Jeannette Braun (Handicap 24.5) with 47\/49=96=Nett 71.5.<\/p>\n
The pair registered three pars on the 3rd\/9th and 16th holes.<\/p>\n
Ten balls were handed out in the ball rundown.<\/p>\n
The speciality p0rizes for the day for the Long Drive on the 7th Hole went to A Grade \u2013 Jan Shanahan, B Grade – Lizzie Clements and C Grade \u2013 Sue McPherson all collected two balls each.<\/p>\n
On the Par 3, 8th Hole the Pro Shot went to Denise Harvey with partner Carol Davis complementing Denise\u2019s great shot with a birdie.APRIL 11 RESULTS<\/p>\n
Wintry conditions greeted 14 ladies who teed up for a stableford game at the Mount Gambier Golf Club last Saturday.<\/p>\n
Continuing on her good form was first placegetter Gail Watson (Handicap 38) with 34 points, made up of 18\/16=34 points.<\/p>\n
In her winning score Gail posted six three pointers.<\/p>\n
Second placegetter was Trudy Johnson (Handicap 18) with 19\/14=33 points including four pars.<\/p>\n
Four balls were handed out to Janina Morrison, Di O\u2019Donnell, Helen Gregory and Penne Saffin.<\/p>\n
