STUDENTS across the region have been busy back out on Country this term with the Walking the Seasons program being conducted in eleven schools this year.<\/p>\n
The Walking the Seasons program is a collaborative program delivered by the Limestone Coast Landscape Board and Burrandies Aboriginal Corporation.<\/p>\n
First Nations Elders lead an immersive on Country experience to give students a deeper understanding of First Nations culture, supported by the Limestone Coast Landscape Board Education team students make observations across the landscape of seasonal change.<\/p>\n
Landscape educator Mel Holtz said it was fantastic to see the program grow each year with the Limestone Coast school community supporting the program.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe feedback from schools involved with the program has been amazing, students really embrace being out on country,\u201d Ms Holtz said.<\/p>\n
\u201cConnecting students with Country and culture provides an authentic learning environment with a local context.
