THE Riddoch Arts and Cultural Centre continues to expand its public programs with the introduction of Art Meets Film, a monthly film screening series that connects exhibitions and collections with cinema.<\/p>\n

Designed to complement the Riddoch\u2019s current exhibitions, Art Meets Film presents a curated selection of thought-provoking and visually rich films rarely seen in commercial cinemas.<\/p>\n

Each screening invites audiences to deepen their understanding of exhibition themes, offering new perspectives through the lens of film.<\/p>\n

The program is delivered in partnership with Mount Gambier Reels Film Society, strengthening connections between local arts communities.<\/p>\n

Members of the film society are offered discounted ticket entry to Art Meet Film screenings, encouraging cross-pollination between gallery-goers and cinephiles alike.<\/p>\n

Riddoch public programs officer Talie Teakle said Art Meets Film was an exciting way for them to expand their public programs and invite audiences to experience art from a new perspective.<\/p>\n

\u201cWorking with the Reels Film Society has been a great collaboration that strengthens our creative community,\u201d Ms Teakle said.<\/p>\n

Each ticket includes complimentary film snacks with a bar available serving soft drinks, beer, and wine creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere for audiences to engage with challenging and inspiring content.<\/p>\n

This month marks the fourth instalment of the series, featuring the compelling documentary Emily: I Am Kam, which explores the life and practice of acclaimed artist Emily Kam Kngwarray.<\/p>\n

Widely regarded as one of Australia\u2019s most significant First Nation\u2019s contemporary artists, Emily Kam Kngwarray rose to international prominence for her bold, expressive works that draw deeply from her cultural knowledge and connection to Country.<\/p>\n

Film goers will get a special opportunity to view selected works by Emily Kam Kngwarray exclusively on display prior to the screening, accompanied by a brief introduction by assistant curator Saskia Scott.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Riddoch Arts and Cultural Centre is proud to hold works by Anmatyerr artist Emily Kam Kngwarray within its permanent collection,\u201d Ms Scott said. \u201cThe upcoming screening is a wonderful opportunity to see Kngwarray\u2019s works in person and gain a deeper understanding of her practice and her profound connection to her Country.\u201d<\/p>\n
