ANOTHER jam packed day of golf greeted the women at the Blue Lake Golf club last week playing for the May Monthly Medal, the 4th and final round of the Collins Court Butcher Captain\u2019s Trophy on the Wednesday and the Jetts Fitness Centre sponsored Saturday Summer Trophy as well as the Saturday Monthly Medal.<\/p>\n
The Wednesday Monthly Medal, sponsored by member Bev Pascoe, was won convincingly by Division Two player Carol Melhuish nett 70.<\/p>\n
The event was a stroke competition and the Division One winner was Karen Panagopoulos signing for 91\/21\/70 with splits of 47\/44.<\/p>\n
Starting her round on the back nine the pars on 12, 16 and 17th holes along with birdies on the 14 and 15th were to hold her in good stead as there was only one par on the front nine, 1st, scored.<\/p>\n
Runner up Sue Agars 92\/20\/72 also scored well with pars on the 5th and 6th in her front nine 48 strokes and pars on 15th and 16th in her 44 strokes.<\/p>\n
Third on the podium was Sally Houlihan 94\/21\/73 with pars on 2nd, 7, 12 and 17th holes in her splits of 48\/46.<\/p>\n
Monthly medal winner Carol Melhuish also won the Division Two top voucher signing for 108\/38\/70 with splits of 57\/51 that Included pars on the 5th and 14th holes.<\/p>\n
Runner up was Lee Anderson 114\/38\/76 her front nine 59 strokes were improved on the back nine with 55.<\/p>\n
Third placegetter was Dianne Allen 120\/42\/78 also improving on her front nine 64 strokes coming home with 56 on the back nine.<\/p>\n
Nearest to the pin 2nd shot winners on the 14th were Karen Panagopoulos (in the hole) and Carol Downing (2.50).<\/p>\n
Pro-shot winner on the 5th was Rosemary Martland (10.50) also winning the putts (26) prize.<\/p>\n
Panagopoulos scored birdies on 14th and 15th, chip-in ferrets for Allen 11th, Anderson 15th, Helen Stratford 15th and Sally Houlihan.<\/p>\n
