AUSTRALIA Post is calling on community organisations across South Australia to apply for its Community Grants Program, following another successful year of supporting grassroots initiatives that foster social connection to help strengthen mental wellbeing and resilience in local communities across Australia.<\/p>\n
Last year, Australia Post funded 88 projects under the Community Grants Program with grants totalling $705,555 awarded to not-for-profit organisations across all states and territories. More than half of the successful projects were in regional and remote areas and more than 40% of grants were allocated to support disaster-impacted communities.<\/p>\n
In SA, five grassroots organisations received a combined total of $44,700 in funding through the 2025 Community Grants program.<\/p>\n
Tim Watts, General manager at The Mill, which received $10,000 in Australia Post Community Grant funding, said, \u201cAustralia Post supported The Mill to run \u2018Threads\u2019, a community wellbeing program for the 70 artists based in our Adelaide studios. We know artists often experience an elevated sense of isolation, and anxiety around the precarious nature of working in the creative industries. \u2018Threads\u2019 has helped to strengthen professional and social bonds between studio artists, creating a stronger and more resilient community. 91% of artists participating in the program say their mental health has been positively impacted through participation.\u201d<\/p>\n
Applications are now open for eligible not-for-profit groups seeking grants of up to $10,000. Australia Post has also ringfenced an additional $250,000 to fund initiatives helping communities recover, reconnect, and build resilience following natural disasters.<\/p>\n
Australia Post General Manager, Community and Stakeholder Engagement, Nicky Tracey, said:<\/p>\n

\u201cThrough Community Grants, Australia Post is continuing to back community-led projects that create stronger social connections, support mental wellbeing, and help communities move forward following disaster events,\u201d Ms Tracey said.<\/p>\n
Since launching in 2019, Australia Post\u2019s Community Grants Program has awarded more than 530 grants to very worthy organisations nationwide.<\/p>\n
