THE City of Mount Gambier Junior Sports Assistance Fund Committee has provided almost $12,000 in funding to support the delivery of specialised coaching clinics for junior participants across the region.<\/p>\n

Member organisations of the fund were invited to apply for financial assistance to support specialised coaching opportunities for junior players, coaches of junior teams, and junior umpires.<\/p>\n

The following organisations were successful in receiving funding:<\/p>\n

Lakes Junior Tennis Association \u2013 $1900<\/p>\n

Mount Gambier Netball Association \u2013 $1800<\/p>\n

Mount Gambier and District Pony Club \u2013 $2000<\/p>\n

West Gambier Football\/Netball Club \u2013 $1650<\/p>\n

Basketball Mount Gambier \u2013 $4400<\/p>\n

Junior Sports Assistance Fund Presiding Member Cr Lynagh said the fund\u2019s expanded capacity this year enabled a broader distribution of support.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe financial assistance approved will enable these organisations to provide high-quality coaching clinics for their junior players, coaches and umpires,\u201d Cr Lynagh said.<\/p>\n

Cr Lynagh said the initiative plays an important role in strengthening grassroots sport and supporting development pathways for young people in the community.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe hope this funding initiative supports our member organisations in delivering high-quality programs and development opportunities for young people across our region, and we wish them continued success,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
