THE Millicent Gallery is delighted to present Prints of the Range, a new exhibition by Thumbprint Collective Incorporated, opening on Sunday, June 28, at 2pm and continuing until July 26.<\/p>\n
Inspired by the Wattle Range Council area, the exhibition showcases the work of some of the Limestone Coast\u2019s most accomplished printmakers.<\/p>\n
The exhibition celebrates the region\u2019s landscapes and communities through a variety of printmaking techniques.<\/p>\n
Encouraged by the area\u2019s natural and cultural diverse, artists explore coastlines, farmland, lakes, forests and townships in works that reflect the character of the Wattle Range region.<\/p>\n
Visitors will experience an impressive collection of linocuts, etchings, collagraphs, cyanotypes, gelli prints and monoprints, showcasing the many possibilities of contemporary printmaking.<\/p>\n
Based in Mount Gambier, Thumbprint Collective has been exhibiting for more than 30 years and is renowned for promoting the art of printmaking and fostering creative collaboration among artists across the Limestone Coast.<\/p>\n
This is the third occasion that Thumbprint Collective has exhibited at the Millicent Gallery, with each previous exhibition proving highly successful and warmly received by visitors and the community.<\/p>\n
The exhibition showcases works by Ruth Schubert, Anne Miles, Julie Bignell, Diana Wiseman, Sue Shaw, Marianne Tucker, Jennie Matthews, Sally O\u2019Connor, Libby Altschwager, Anne Headlam, Rachael Ashman, Angela Goode, Bec Trapani and Trudy Tandberg.<\/p>\n
Mayor Des Noll said the exhibition highlights both the talent of the region\u2019s artists and the landscapes that inspire them.<\/p>\n
“We are delighted to welcome Thumbprint Collective back to the Millicent Gallery for a third exhibition. Their previous exhibitions have been tremendously successful, and Prints of the Range once again showcases the creativity and skill of these talented artists while celebrating the unique beauty and character of the Wattle Range region.<\/p>\n
