THE winter solstice may have happened with some lovely sunshine in between the rain to ease the cold starts to the day but the golf course remains heavy underfoot once again indicative to the scores recorded especially off the stick scores.<\/p>\n
Twenty-five women took to the Blue Lake Golf course last week for the June Monthly Medal, sponsored by life member Judy Collins, along with the first of four rounds of the President\u2019s Trophy sponsored by Scotty\u2019s Loader Services and the winner of the medal was Division Two\u2019s Kristy Janeway, her second monthly medal for 2026.<\/p>\n
A countback was required in Division One after Helen Stratford and Rosemary Martland both signed for nett 79.<\/p>\n
Stratford played off a 22 handicap 101 gross with splits of 55\/46 that Included pars on14 and 15th holes and Martland off a 14 handicap 93 gross with splits of 49\/44 included pars on 5, 12 and 14th holes, Stratford winning the countback.<\/p>\n
Third on the podium was Sally Houlihan 101\/21\/80 with a par on the dog-leg par four 15th hole in her splits of 50\/51.<\/p>\n
Kristy Janeway also placed first for Division Two signing for 111\/35\/76 with splits of 56\/55.<\/p>\n
Taking second place was Carol Downing 114\/32\/82 with splits of 62\/52.<\/p>\n
Often in the winner\u2019s circle Trudy-Anne Doyle was the third placegetter signing for 119\/34\/85 with splits of 59\/60.<\/p>\n
Nearest to the pin 2nd shot on 14th winners were Martland (.7cms) and Vivienne Wilson (1.62) least putts winner Martland 27.<\/p>\n
Chip-in ferrets were recorded by Janeway 11th, Wilson 13th, Geraldine Scott 15th, Lynette Hirth 17th, Carol Melhuish 17th.<\/p>\n
