THREE Limestone Coast events have secured South Australian Government funding through the latest round of the Regional Event Fund.<\/p>\n
The State Government supports the development of new and innovative regional events and growth of existing events, while driving visitation and economic stimulus across regional South Australia.<\/p>\n
Coonawarra Cabernet Celebrations this year and the 2027 Coonawarra Fringe and 2027 Generations in Jazz are the three events that will enjoy the cash boost.<\/p>\n
Funding is offered across two event categories – Established Event Funding and Development Event Funding \u2013 and event organisers could apply for up to three years\u2019 funding, to the value of $50,000 per year for an Established Event, and up to $20,000 per year for a Development Event.<\/p>\n
Tourism Minister Emily Bourke said regional events were vital for local communities, encouraging visitors to explore South Australia by providing a platform to showcase what makes their part of the state so unique.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are significant flow-on benefits from these events for regional economies, from supporting local tourism operators, accommodation and hospitality providers to hire car companies, main street shops and everything in between,\u201d Minister Bourke said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe events supported by the Regional Event Fund highlight what makes South Australia a must-visit destination \u2013 good food and drinks, natural wonders, rich history, and artistic talent – all delivered with authentic hospitality.<\/p>\n
\u201cI encourage South Australians to check out what\u2019s on in their backyard, stay a few nights, and discover the simple pleasures of South Australia.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Coonawarra Vignerons Association\u2019s Heidi Guyett welcomed the windfall.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Regional Event Fund support is a welcome investment in one of South Australia\u2019s iconic regional wine festivals,\u201d Mrs Guyett said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis funding will help us continue to grow Coonawarra Cabernet Celebrations as a key driver of visitation to the Limestone Coast, encouraging visitors to stay longer, explore more and experience the very best of our region.<\/p>\n
\u201cFestival goers can look forward to an exciting three-week program celebrating everything that makes Coonawarra unique \u2013 from our exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon and premium food and wine experiences to behind-the-scenes winery events, live music sessions, bespoke tastings and opportunities to meet the passionate people behind our wines.<\/p>\n
