OFFROAD motorcyclist Max Midwinter has been selected to represent Australia at the 2026 International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) in Portugal.<\/p>\n
Max has been selected to wear the green and gold at one of the world’s most prestigious off-road motorcycle events, with the 2026 ISDE to be held in Gr\u00e2ndola, Portugal, from October 12 to 17.<\/p>\n
The event is particularly significant as it marks the 100th edition of the historic competition, often referred to as the \u2018Olympics of Enduro\u2019.<\/p>\n
It is recognised as one of the longest-running and toughest off-road motorcycle events in the world and riders will tackle six gruelling days of racing across challenging terrain while representing their countries against the world’s best.<\/p>\n
For Max, the selection is the reward for years of dedication, determination, and countless hours spent training and competing.<\/p>\n
A Naracoorte local, Max has built a reputation as a talented and hardworking rider, earning respect through his performances on the national enduro circuit.<\/p>\n
Family, friends, sponsors, and the local community have helped Max get to have this opportunity, which he is truly grateful.<\/p>\n
“It’s an incredible honour to represent Australia,” Max said. “Competing at the ISDE has always been a dream, and to be part of the 100th edition makes it even more special. I’m proud to represent my country and my hometown on the world stage.”<\/p>\n
Midwinter is enjoying an exceptional season in the 2026 Yamaha Australian Enduro Championship presented by MXstore (AusEnduro), running second in the E3 category behind fellow KTM rider Korey McMahon.<\/p>\n
He\u2019s also seventh in the \u2018best of the best\u2019 Pro Enduro class, making up two spots at the recent AusEnduro rounds in Casterton (Vic) on June 20-21.<\/p>\n
Last year, Max finished fifth in the E2 class and 17th in ProEnduro.<\/p>\n
\u201cFrom the beginning of racing a dream of mine was to represent Australia on the world stage:\u201d said Midwinter. \u201cNow that it\u2019s a reality I\u2019m over the moon with excitement and ready to put my best foot forward and see what we can achieve.\u201d<\/p>\n
The six-day event will attract hundreds of riders from more than 30 nations, testing not only speed but endurance, navigation, mechanical skills, and determination.<\/p>\n
Max will compete in the Under 23-year-old Junior Australian team – the team consist of three juniors, four seniors and three female riders<\/p>\n
