{"id":2763,"date":"2023-10-18T12:54:47","date_gmt":"2023-10-18T12:54:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mtgambiertimes\/?p=2763"},"modified":"2023-11-03T12:56:08","modified_gmt":"2023-11-03T12:56:08","slug":"windfall-for-vinnies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mtgambiertimes\/news\/windfall-for-vinnies\/","title":{"rendered":"Windfall for Vinnies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Naracoorte centre $12,000 facility upgrade<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Member for Barker Tony Pasin has congratulated St Vincent De Paul Naracoorte on their successful application to Round 8 of the Stronger Communities Program.<\/p>\n<p>Vinnies has received $12,000 through the Federal Government Program to purchase new carpet to complete the upgrade at the Smith St Family Centre.<\/p>\n<p>The building has been in use since 1986, offering second hand goods, financial and physical support for those in need in and around Naracoorte.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Pasin said he was pleased that, as a non-for-profit organisation, Naracoorte Vinnies could take advantage of the highly successful funding program to the benefit the 24 volunteers and their clients.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe former Coalition Government focused heavily on local capacity building by targeting funding to grassroots community organisations like the Naracoorte Vinnies, enabling them to improve facilities because well- equipped organisations contribute to stronger communities,\u201d Mr Pasin said. \u201cVinnies plays an important role in the local community.
