Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) is excited to announce the appointment of Tracey Neville as head coach for the newest Suncorp Super Netball team, with the highly experienced coach set to lead the franchise during the 2024 season.<\/p>\n
Neville\u2019s appointment follows an extensive and rigorous process in search of the leading candidate to align with this historic opportunity. Ultimately, Neville\u2019s experience and dynamic personality perfectly aligned to lead the new team.<\/p>\n
Adding further suitability for the role, Neville already has direct experience within the Suncorp Super Netball competition, serving as an Assistant Coach to the Adelaide Thunderbirds, playing a key role during their successful 2023 Championship season.<\/p>\n
Neville also boasts an impressive international coaching career, having overseen the rebuild of the England National Team that ultimately won Gold at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games. Her achievements don\u2019t stop there, with Neville holding several coaching roles with the Manchester Thunder in England\u2019s Netball Superleague, contributing to Championships in 2012, 2014, and 2022.<\/p>\n
SEN \u2013 CEO of Teams, Richard Simkiss, said he was ecstatic to have such an experienced and respected coach appointed for the new franchise.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m thrilled to welcome Tracey as the inaugural coach of the newest Suncorp Super Netball team,\u201d Simkiss said. \u201cWe are determined that the team will be a genuine contender from the beginning, and we couldn\u2019t be more confident that we have found the best person to help us achieve that.<\/p>\n
\u201cTracey\u2019s outstanding experience and determined attitude to build this team from the ground up really stood out, and we think it is a great fit to put a strong stamp on our new team from the outset; to be a destination club with such an exciting journey ahead.\u201d Neville said she was looking forward to the opportunity to build the new team.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m delighted to be accepting this role and the next challenge in my coaching career,\u201d she said. \u201cAfter winning the Grand Final with the Adelaide Thunderbirds last year there was no doubt that Australia was where I wanted to be and continue my coaching.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe opportunity to put myself forward for this role came unexpectedly but at the right time. There was no doubt as I went through the interview process the shared vision, mission and values of this company confirmed that this was a place where I wanted to be.<\/p>\n
