<\/p>\nSixty years and counting. The Kalangadoo Bowling Club has just celebrated six decades since it was established and it is an outlier in the Lower South East \u2013 it is the sole remaining grass green facility.<\/p>\n
The committee of the War Memorial Park agreed to promote the formation of a bowling club and it was at a 1963 meeting that the club was formed. R Winser was elected president, H Smith vice president, D Parker secretary, C Bartlett treasurer and D Walker minute secretary.<\/p>\n
As with so many community clubs. The Kalangadoo Bowling Club was built on the blood, sweat, tears and passion of volunteers.<\/p>\n
It was a volunteer workforce that planned and installed the green and in 1964 an associate (ladies) committee was installed with a marquee set up for players while the constructing of clubrooms and a kitchen was completed.<\/p>\n
That part of the project, with the club sitting at 50 members and 35 associates, was made possible by a generous donation from Mr J Hunt The current membership sits at 28, with no associate members at this time but it is a club still well supported by the community with the club still maintained and run by hard working volunteers.<\/p>\n
The club had two men\u2019s pennant sides both competing in finals in the LSEBA in the 202 \u201323 season and has maintained strong support from sponsors including Kalangadoo Hotel, TDC Livestock, Nutrien, Bucik Tyrepower, O\u2019Connor and Graney, Signs by Brumby, Collins Court Butchers, Geoff Gray painters, D\u00e9cor House with some new sponsors waiting in te wings to sign on. <\/p>\n
