Following lengthy investigations, the District Council of Grant has created more flexible options for residents during kerbside mobile garbage bin collection expansions in light of changes to private service offerings.<\/p>\n
Chief executive officer Darryl Whicker said the new approach will ensure that all practical properties receive access to appropriate waste services.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter becoming aware of changing circumstances in private bin collection, council has altered its Waste Management Policy to enable expansion of the bin collection service to efficiently and effectively meet the demand in certain areas,\u201d Mr Whicker said. The amended policy provides council with the ability to promptly approve expansions as they are identified and become feasible for council to service.<\/p>\n
\u201cUpon benchmarking, Council\u2019s service is more affordable than private contractors, and we look to deliver this service to more people across our district,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The Waste Management Policy now also recognises unique waste requirements of local community\/sporting groups and businesses, allowing those eligible to be considered for an alternate mobile garbage bin collection arrangement.<\/p>\n
