{"id":5803,"date":"2023-04-19T13:32:11","date_gmt":"2023-04-19T13:32:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mtgambiertimes\/?p=5803"},"modified":"2023-11-06T13:34:14","modified_gmt":"2023-11-06T13:34:14","slug":"keeping-it-in-the-family-at-the-seaside","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mtgambiertimes\/sport\/keeping-it-in-the-family-at-the-seaside\/","title":{"rendered":"Keeping it in the family at the seaside"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Husband &#038; wife duo secures Port MacDonnell Bowling Club veteran singles titles <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Port MacDonnell Bowling Club has hosted its Ladies and Mens Veterans and it was the Richards family taking home the chocolates in both events.<\/p>\n<p>The ladies had five nominations for the Rae Perryman Memorial with Heather Richards defeating Roma Henderson to advance to the final.<\/p>\n<p>Lyn Vanderley defeated Robin Burley to also advance to the final with Heather (pictured right) proving too good for Lyn to win 22-5.<\/p>\n<p>In the men\u2019s competition also had five nominations playing for the Barry Praetz Memorial.<\/p>\n<p>Terry Seiler defeated Danny Gaut and Des Horrigan to make it through to the final, while Chris Richards defeated Donald Forbes to make it to the final against Terry.<\/p>\n<p>With Chris (pictured far top) bowling very steadily was able to take the title 21-14.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/26\/2023\/11\/401-7.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"803\" height=\"1147\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5804\" srcset=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/26\/2023\/11\/401-7.jpg 803w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/26\/2023\/11\/401-7-210x300.jpg 210w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/26\/2023\/11\/401-7-717x1024.jpg 717w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/26\/2023\/11\/401-7-768x1097.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 803px) 100vw, 803px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Veterans events capped off what has been a stunning season for the small seaside club.<\/p>\n<p>Port MacDonnell won two pennants and took out three of the Champion of Champions on offer for the region as well &#8211; Heather Richards in the Ladies Singles, the Men\u2019s Fours team of Tim Wrightson (sk), Wayne Dowdell, Keith Dowdell and Barrie Schmidt and the Men\u2019s Triples of Adam Wilson (sk), Chris Richards and John Broadbent.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Husband &#038; wife duo secures Port MacDonnell Bowling Club veteran singles titles The Port MacDonnell Bowling Club has hosted its Ladies and Mens Veterans and it was the Richards family taking home the chocolates in both events.
