{"id":6916,"date":"2023-03-29T10:24:45","date_gmt":"2023-03-29T10:24:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mtgambiertimes\/?p=6916"},"modified":"2023-11-07T10:29:01","modified_gmt":"2023-11-07T10:29:01","slug":"artist-returns-to-millicent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mtgambiertimes\/living\/artist-returns-to-millicent\/","title":{"rendered":"Artist returns  to Millicent"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>New exhibition opening Friday<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It is a relationship that spans more than three decades and international and nationally acclaimed artist Sharon Davson is returning to the Millicent Gallery with an exhibition opening this Friday, showcasing her unique experiences: Davson Art with Others.<\/p>\n<p>Wattle Range manager libraries and gallery Janice Nitschke said they were looking forward to sharing this exhibition with the community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt embraces co-creation with other artists and has inclusions from distinguished people such as Mr Tairiku Trshima, Baz Luhrmann and Cathy Freeman OAM,\u201d Mrs Nitschke said.<\/p>\n<p>Davson is regarded as a world leading environmental and spiritual artist. Her foundational themes of wellbeing, gratitude, and greater harmony for all, unfold as you view her multi-layered compositions. <\/p>\n<p>Creative leadership means Davson follows her passion to make a positive difference in our world, endorsing charitable ventures for world peace and endangered species.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter first arriving in Millicent in 1981 she followed up with exhibitions in 1985 and 2010 \u2013 \u2018The Davson &#8211; World Leaders\u2019 and \u2018Enlightenment\u2019 and in 2012 she donated a collection of her works,\u201d Mrs Nitschke said, of the long standing relationship the gallery and Davson had fostered.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Mayor Peter Dunnicliff, who is opening the exhibition on Friday said it was indeed a privilege for the Millicent Gallery to host such an acclaimed artist, who has had a long relationship with the gallery.<\/p>\n<p>Davson Art With Others opens March 31s and is exhibiting at the Millicent Gallery throughout April.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New exhibition opening Friday It is a relationship that spans more than three decades and international and nationally acclaimed artist Sharon Davson is returning to the Millicent Gallery with an exhibition opening this Friday, showcasing her unique experiences: Davson Art with Others.
