{"id":7137,"date":"2023-03-22T11:50:02","date_gmt":"2023-03-22T11:50:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mtgambiertimes\/?p=7137"},"modified":"2023-11-07T11:52:28","modified_gmt":"2023-11-07T11:52:28","slug":"glory-for-gloria","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mtgambiertimes\/sport\/glory-for-gloria\/","title":{"rendered":"Glory for Gloria"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>March Monthly Medal decided<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Last week was the first round of the monthly medal competition for 2023. <\/p>\n<p>With a good field of 43 players Mount gambier Golf Club\u2019s only lady life member still playing competitive golf in Gloria Lennon, was the very popular winner of the monthly medal. <\/p>\n<p>She had a great score of nett 67, winning Division 2, two strokes ahead of Linda Boylan on 69. <\/p>\n<p>This was also the first qualifying round of the handicap championship which is played over seven rounds. <\/p>\n<p>Andrea Pegler was the winner in Division 1 with a nett 71 followed closely by Jennette Braun on 72. <\/p>\n<p>A putting competition is held on all monthly medal days and that was won by Heather Teakle with only 28 putts. <\/p>\n<p>Novelty prizes for nearest the pins were won by Helen Gregory, Vicki Clarke and Sharran Waters. <\/p>\n<p>The pro shot on the 8th hole was won by Leanne Hunt. <\/p>\n<p>MARCH 18 RESULTS Twenty-one ladies took to the course on Saturday for a par round. <\/p>\n<p>Jill Johnson was a clear winner with 4 up on a course that was in great condition all set up for the Seniors PGA. <\/p>\n<p>Sue Coulter was the next best with 1 up and Vicki Clarke 3rd on a count back with square. <\/p>\n<p>The Pennant season started on Monday with 2 teams representing our club one in A Grade and one in Division 1.<\/p>\n<p><strong>POPULAR MONTHLY MEDAL WINNER<\/strong>: Captain Jan Shanahan presenting Gloria Lennon with her monthly medal.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>March Monthly Medal decided Last week was the first round of the monthly medal competition for 2023.
