The Mount Gambier Gun Club held its Sporting and Balltrap Competitions on Saturday in sunshine and overcast conditions with varying rain showers along with some annoying gusts of winds during the day and yet, the shooters still obtained some commendable high scores.<\/p>\n
The opening event was the Dougal Simson Family 50 Target five stand sporting clays.<\/p>\n
This competition was enthusiastically and accurately shot as the targets were thrown from five different traps and in these difficult weather conditions some impressive scores were obtained.<\/p>\n
Jamie Dunn was in top form and showed good accuracy shooting a 47\/50 to win AA grade just edging out Tim Widdison 46\/50.<\/p>\n
Seasoned shooter Christopher Wright showed his quick reflexes and coordination with 47\/50 to win A from Ernie Scheidl 54\/60.<\/p>\n
Steve Chambers showing his prowess with 43\/50 took B from Frank Kentish 36\/50 and Nicola Dunn 41\/50 won C from Warren Lindner 39\/50.<\/p>\n
The Sealey Springs 25 Target Balltrap Championship event was again exceptionally well shot in the weather conditions, with a perfect score of 25\/25 from Andrew Hoare\u00a0seeing him win AA from Dougal Simson 24\/25.<\/p>\n
Christopher Wright 23\/25 again showed his prowess won A from Warren Lindner 28\/32.<\/p>\n
Rodney Gilcrist 21\/25 won B from Steven Scheidl 23\/28 and after a\u00a0quick shootoff Wayne Evans 22\/27 narrowly won C from Daniel Robinson 21\/27. The next competition will be held on November 12.<\/p>\n
