Do you know a local student of any age who could benefit from a scholarship to help them realise their dreams?<\/p>\n
If so, the Stand Like Stone Foundation is now seeking applications from students of the Limestone Coast.<\/p>\n
Scholarship funding is available for individuals with a connection to the Limestone Coast, who are seeking financial support to achieve their educational goals in 2024.<\/p>\n
Scholarships are open to all ages and are available to support education from kindergarten through to tertiary and trade based studies.<\/p>\n
Foundation CEO Roger Babolka said the educational scholarship program is designed to support the people and their education who have a connection to this region, and from our scholarship round last year, we were able to offer 30 students across our region with $75,000 in scholarship grants.<\/p>\n
Former Millicent High School student Kelsie Wilkinson was successful in obtaining a scholarship supported by the Rackhams Sub Fund last year, and had previously been successful in obtaining a scholarship through the Millicent High School sub fund in 2021.<\/p>\n
Both these scholarships have assisted Kelsie with the financial costs of study, to obtain her Bachelor of Secondary Education (Honours).<\/p>\n
Kelsie said an aspiration of hers had always been to return to the Limestone Coast area and to be a teacher in the local schools, giving back to the community who helped me achieve my goals.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s thanks to the ongoing generosity of our donors that we\u2019re able to continue supporting local students in a variety of ways, whether it\u2019s paying for school fees, assisting with the purchase of course equipment, through to assisting with general living expenses or accommodation costs for students studying away,\u201d Mr Babolka said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re extremely proud of what our scholarships can achieve, so we really encourage all those students and families in the Limestone Coast that are needing some support to get on board and apply.\u201d<\/p>\n
Scholarships are now open, with applications closing November 30.<\/p>\n
