Member for Barker Tony Pasin paid a visit to the Mount Gambier City Band\u2019s rehearsal recently to present the band with a new Australia and indigenous flag which is flown on significant days from the band\u2019s building.<\/p>\n
Attending the band\u2019s rehearsal and listening to the band\u2019s music it is set to perform next month the Federal MP was impressed. <\/p>\n
Mr Pasin also paid tribute to the band\u2019s commitment to the community and the recent service they have given to various activities across the region.<\/p>\n
He reflected on his own experiences in times past when as a young person he experienced music lessons on Sundays on the same platform that graces the building today.<\/p>\n
Mr Pasin was also impressed with the improvements and renovations that have taken place in recent years to bring the existing building, which has been a city landmark since 1965, into a quality contemporary venue.<\/p>\n
He also highlighted the long standing role the band has played in the city since 1895. <\/p>\n
