Jemma Jarnevic has already been dancing for 13 years but she has no intention of stopping any time soon as she officially kicks off the next chapter of her dance education with her year long program at Dynamite starting this week.<\/p>\n
The 18-year-old has been dancing at Mount Gambier\u2019s Hype Dance since she was five,<\/p>\n
\u201cMum signed me up when I was five and I loved it from the beginning,\u201d Jemma said. \u201cI started with jazz and contemporary in a junior class.\u201d<\/p>\n
In her own words she has \u2018done everything\u2019 as she looked to find her niche.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think I\u2019m a jazz girl at heart,\u201d Jemma said. \u201cI just think it is fun and I love the feeling it gives me \u2013 it\u2019s really cool.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Tenison Woods College graduate admits early days she never contemplated making dance, no matter how much she loved it, her professional career.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen I was much younger, it seemed too good to be true that you dance as a job,\u201d Jemma said. \u201cBut I think he past three years I really started to realise it was possible and I have definitely been inspired by the dancers I have seen leave here and do just that.<\/p>\n
\u201cI figured if they can do it, surely I can do it. I know it will be hard at first but I am ready for the challenge. I am putting all my energy into dance.\u201d<\/p>\n
Cruise ship work is top of Jemma\u2019s wishlist, which is, again, why Dynamite proved to be the perfect fit.<\/p>\n
She is also interested in teaching and has already dipped her toe in the water as an assistant teacher \u2013 a role she has enjoyed since she was 11 years old.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
