Tracey Bainger has had a front row seat to the value of a community working together to achieve success and she has also worked side by side with other volunteers to ensure Robe is not just a great place to visit but a great place to live.<\/p>\n
\u201cA lot of the values instilled in me have come from my 10 years working at the Bendigo Bank Community Bank, and my community service has really always been an extension of that plus the disposition that has always been within me to help others,\u201d Tracey said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have recently started a new Mobile Lending role at Community Bank Mount Gambier & Districts and over the years I have witnessed firsthand hundreds of local projects and initiatives come to life, not merely from funding, but due to the volunteer work from countless individuals which motivates me to do the best I can for our town.\u201d<\/p>\n
As for Tracey she is the long standing chairperson and event organiser of the Robe Christmas Parade, Robe Sports & Recreation Association treasurer and Robe Branch National Trust of South Australia chair and it is that commitment, as well as her involvement in numerous other community projects that saw her snare the 2024 Citizen of the Year Award.<\/p>\n
\u201cVolunteers are the lifeblood of our town and it\u2019s been inspiring to see the strengths we all demonstrate from embracing our differences and working together towards common goals,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s that aspect that excites me the most to continue this journey.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt may sound clich\u00e9, but the concept holds true that collective efforts lighten the load.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn small towns, each of us playing a role in enhancing our community is crucial.<\/p>\n
\u201cEven the smallest contributions can yield significant positive changes, and the impact is evident when a new volunteer joins a committee.\u201d<\/p>\n
And Tracey would encourage everyone to look for their niche in being part of a community project or group.<\/p>\n
\u201cEngaging in group projects not only introduces new ideas but also fosters connections, and most importantly builds a network of friendships,\u201d she said. \u201c<\/p>\n
