{"id":878,"date":"2022-12-07T03:52:03","date_gmt":"2022-12-07T03:52:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mtgambiertimes\/?p=878"},"modified":"2023-11-02T03:54:22","modified_gmt":"2023-11-02T03:54:22","slug":"township-planning","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mtgambiertimes\/living\/township-planning\/","title":{"rendered":"Township planning"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Have your say on Grant District Council plans<\/h2>\n<p>The District Council of Grant invites the community to provide their input towards the preparation of a Master Plan and Urban\u00a0Design Framework to guide future development of private land\u00a0and public spaces within its inner townships and communities.<\/p>\n<p>Council is encouraging residents living and working in the following townships to attend the upcoming workshops: \u2022 Allendale East \u2022 Caveton \/ Wye \u2022 Compton \u2022 Glenburnie \u2022 Kongorong \u2022 Mil-Lel<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Moorak Mount Schank \u2022 OB Flat \u2022 Suttontown \u2022 Tarpeena \u2022 Worrolong \u2022 Yahl<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>WORKSHOPS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tarpeena Football Club \u2013 Monday, December 5 \u2013 7pm to 9pm<\/li>\n<li>Casadio Park \u2013 Tuesday, December 6 \u2013 7pm to 9pm<\/li>\n<li>Allendale East Public Hall \u2013 Wednesday, December 7 \u2013 7pm to 9pm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The three workshops aim to provide residents with the\u00a0opportunity to share what they value, and key issues that impact them and their communities.<\/p>\n<p>A consultant team has been appointed by council from MasterPlan and Outerspace Landscape Architects to prepare the Inner Townships Master Plan and Urban Design Framework.<\/p>\n<p>The project follows the success of the Urban Design Framework\u00a0and Master Plan for both Port MacDonnell, and the river and coastal communities.<\/p>\n<p>District Council of Grant chief executive officer Darryl Whicker said council was excited to see this significant project commence and was looking forward to seeing it progressing over the coming months.<\/p>\n<p>The consultant team will be working in the District Council of Grant area this week. In addition to engaging with the community, the team will be working closely with council staff in undertaking a detailed on-ground analysis of all townships and settlements.<\/p>\n<p>A community drop-in session will also be held on Thursday,<\/p>\n<p>December 8, at the District Council of Grant Council Office from 1.30\u20133.30pm.<\/p>\n<p>District Council of Grant Mayor, Kylie Boston, said it was intended that this project would create a shared vision for the future of these townships and communities. \u201cThis is a great opportunity to have<\/p>\n<p>your say about your community and its future direction,\u201d Mayor Boston said. \u201cThis information will help guide council\u2019s planning and budget allocation process.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Following the sessions, the consultant team will work with District Council of Grant staff to collate all feedback received and create a draft Master Plan. This draft Master Plan will then be presented for feedback at a series of community design workshops to be held early in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Concurrently with the Inner Townships projectc Council has also engaged MasterPlan to undertake a Strategic Land Use Priorities review.<\/p>\n<p>This project is focussed on reviewing the supply and demand of land to accommodate future growth in the council area, including land for residential, rural living, commercial and industrial uses.<\/p>\n<p>This project has reviewed previous work undertaken by council and will involve stakeholder and community engagement early next year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Have your say on Grant District Council plans The District Council of Grant invites the community to provide their input towards the preparation of a Master Plan and Urban\u00a0Design Framework to guide future development of private land\u00a0and public spaces within its inner townships and communities.
