The clock is ticking with only weeks to go until Generations in Jazz and the call out is getting louder for volunteers \u2013 the lifeblood of running this major international jazz event.<\/p>\n

Volunteer coordinator Fiona Unger said organisers were looking for individual volunteers as well as community groups to put their hand up to help.<\/p>\n

In 2024, it is a numbers game, with a significant bounce back to pre-COVID numbers registered for the May 3-5.<\/p>\n

There are 1000 more students headed to Mount Gambier for the premier jazz event, with three more pavilions needed compared with last year, with numbers sitting at around 4200.<\/p>\n

It is in the pavilions that GIJ organisers are looking for volunteers to assist with logistics \u2013 getting students, equipment and other set up needs for each school efficiently so the jam packed competition and performance program can run smoothly.<\/p>\n

People can register individually, while it is also a great opportunity for community and sporting groups to get together a team of 10-12 people to man a pavilion for a day, earning up to $2000 for their coffers.<\/p>\n

The kids are amazing, friendly and well behaved. These are roles for adults and you just need a pleasant disposition.
