Member for Barker Tony Pasin will acknowledge the work of Barker\u2019s highly valued Volunteers next month through the Barker Volunteer Awards program.<\/p>\n
National Volunteer Week highlights the importance of volunteering and acknowledge and thank those that give their time to volunteer for the benefit of others.<\/p>\n
It is Australia\u2019s largest annual celebration of volunteering and is held annually in May and this year Volunteer Week will be celebrated Nationally between May 20-26.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs I spend time in communities across Barker, I am regularly reminded of the immense contribution that volunteers make,\u201d Mr Pasin said. \u201cFrom the local Men\u2019s Shed, sporting club or CFS, it is the unpaid work of volunteers that keeps these organisations running and serving the wider community.<\/p>\n
\u201cVolunteers really are the heart of communities across Barker and they deserve recognition for the time, skills and passion they exercise to help make our local communities great places to live, work and raise a family.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Barker Volunteer Awards are a small way in which I can acknowledge and thank the community members who go above and beyond by volunteering.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mr Pasin is encouraging community members to nominate an outstanding volunteer for recognition.<\/p>\n
