Friends of the Library Mount Gambier will host their annual Big Book Sale on Saturday, July 27, at Mount Gambier Library between 9am and 1pm providing the public with a chance to grab a bargain with thousands of books, DVDs and jigsaws for sale.<\/p>\n
Friends of the Library president Chris Lloyd invites the community to donate items for sale in good condition until Thursday, July 25.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe welcome donations of books, jigsaws, board games and DVDs in good used condition. We do not accept donations of magazines, encyclopedias, or books in poor condition,\u201d Ms Lloyd said.<\/p>\n
Items can be dropped to the Mount Gambier Library during opening hours.<\/p>\n
The Big Book Sale is the major fundraiser for Friends of the Library each year with the money raised used to purchase a range of new items for the community facility.<\/p>\n
\u201cRecent financial donations from the Friends of the Library\u2019s efforts have included the purchasing of new furniture to upgrade the Library\u2019s Youth Area and partial funding of the pool and table tennis tables,\u201d Ms Lloyd said.<\/p>\n
Friends of the Library are also seeking new volunteers to join the committee. If you are interested, please speak with a library staff member, or one of the committee members at the Big Book Sale.<\/p>\n
\u201cVolunteering on the committee is a small time commitment that has a big impact on what our wonderful Library can offer,\u201d Ms Lloyd said.<\/p>\n
Manager Library and Community Development Georgina Davison said the Big Book Sale is one of the biggest events on the library calendar.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur book sale is always a popular event with customers lining up at the door before we open. We extend a huge thank you to the Friends of the Library committee for their ongoing support,\u201d Mrs Davison said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
