Your only free local newspaper’s new delivery model and day
Times News Group and Sports Entertainment Network (SEN), publisher of the Mt Gambier Times (formerly Lifestyle 1), is moving from a Wednesday publication day to a Friday publication day and improving its home delivery model.
The Mt Gambier Times will be available and distributed weekly on Fridays from January 12, 2024 – Mt Gambier’s only free local newspaper for more than 20 years.
An opportunity presented to move to a preferred Friday edition to provide more up-to-date news and sports coverage, promotion of local events, an expanded and refreshed My Property real estate guide and showcase the region’s best car dealers and offers.
This change in publication will coincide with a change in delivery model.
Also from Friday, January 12, the Mt Gambier Times will only distribute to homes across Mt Gambier that have subscribed for free delivery, which is available to do today.
As a free local newspaper, the Mt Gambier Times works hard to be a positive voice for the community and will continue to do so in print and online.
The Mt Gambier Times offers an integrated approach to delivering news content across print and digital platforms and is offering Mt Gambier community members the option to subscribe to receive the Times delivered to an elected address for free. The current free letterbox service concludes Wednesday, December 20, and you will need to subscribe.
Mt Gambier Times respects not everyone wants a local newspaper delivered or reads the printed edition that is delivered to letterboxes.
“We are adopting a more sustainable paper delivery method to accommodate for our increase in digital subscribers,” Managing Director Warick Brown said.
“Mt Gambier Times will always have a printed product, it’s our commitment and our purpose to our local community for over 20 years now, but we want to make sure we are providing our readers with the opportunity to consume their local news in a way that suits them, whether that be print or digital or across social media.
“We thank the community for their support of the Mt Gambier Times and look forward to continuing our coverage of news across the region created by our local team in our local office.”
The Mt Gambier Times will still be available right across the region at more than 80 bulk-drop locations to simply pick up free when you like.
