{"id":9687,"date":"2024-08-11T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-08-10T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/shewhothrives\/be-entertained-while-giving-back\/"},"modified":"2024-08-11T04:00:00","modified_gmt":"2024-08-10T17:00:00","slug":"be-entertained-while-giving-back","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/shewhothrives\/be-entertained-while-giving-back\/","title":{"rendered":"Be entertained while giving back"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE Bendigo Evening VIEW Club will host its next movie night fundraiser on Thursday 15 August.<\/p>\n<p>Money raised through the screening of 2023 comedy\/drama Ezra will go towards the Smith Family&#8217;s Learning for Life program, which provides students with financial, educational and personal support.<\/p>\n<p>The event will be held at the Star Cinema in Eaglehawk from 7pm.<\/p>\n<p>The Bendigo Evening VIEW Club is a social women&#8217;s group which also offers financial support to Learning for Life. They currently sponsor 16 students to ensure they have the school supplies and opportunities they need.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have all been hit by the rising cost of living, be it power prices, food or petrol,&#8221;said Bendigo Evening VIEW Club president Sue Middleton<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;But these rises have had an even greater impact on those already doing it tough. Parents shouldn&#8217;t have to choose between putting dinner on the table or buying their child a uniform for school. &#8220;This is why it is so important that we can help children experiencing disadvantage with their education.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The branch is part of a nationwide network of 300 VIEW clubs connecting women and helping communities. VIEW stands for Voice, Interests and Education of Women.<\/p>\n<p>More than 14,000 women are involved in the network, which offers a space for women to get together, enjoy social activities and develop friendships.<\/p>\n<p>Ezra stars Bobby Cannavale, Robert De Niro and Rose Byrne. It is about stand-up comic Max Bernal and his 11-year-old autistic son Ezra, who set off on a road trip in a portrait of a family figuring out how to understand one another.<\/p>\n<p>Attendees could win a pamper hamper.
