The action starts at 9am, with the feature competition at 1pm.<\/p>\n<p>Eight teams from around the state will battle it out in four games. Photo: LJ CHAMPION<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Both teams are seeking their first tournament win.<\/p>\n<p>The Statewide Stampede provides development opportunities and helps foster a sense of community within the roller derby movement. Photo: SUPPLIED<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It began in its current form in Texas in 2001 and the first Australian teams were formed in 2007.<\/p>\n<p>Generally, teams attempt to score points by racing each other around a track and passing other teams&#8217; skaters.
