THE Geelong Cats have secured picks 16 and 37 in the AFLW draft following a mega six-team trade and the departure of midfielder Darcy Moloney.<\/p>\n
On Friday last week, Geelong received pick 22 for Moloney before flipping the pick and some other selections to move up the draft order.<\/p>\n
Moloney departs the Cats for Sydney following 46 games in the hoops during five seasons.<\/p>\n
The 22-year-old averaged 13.5 disposals and close to three tackles a game during the 2024 AFLW season.<\/p>\n
Geelong Cats assistant general manager Brett Johnson thanked Moloney for her time in the blue and white.<\/p>\n
“Darcy\u202fis a quality person who has been a valuable member of our football program and we wish her all the best at the Swans,” he said.<\/p>\n
“We acknowledged Darcy’s request for a fresh start in Sydney, and we have strengthened our draft hand as a result.<\/p>\n
