Jasper Bingham and 3 Humps going places

February 22, 2018 BY

Jasper Bingham plays with Sushi Train and 3 Humps.

I pick up Jasper Bingham on Jarosite Road overlooking the last bit of surf from the weekend.

It’s time to hit Captain, Geelong for the Bones and Jones single launch.

For those not in the know, Jasper Bingham is a local guitarist from Bells Beach.

He’s on the local gig circuit and tearing up sold out shows on the coast with his band 3 Humps.

CH: What bands are you playing in at the moment?

JB: Sushi Train and 3 Humps.

CH: Sweet, blues outfits?

JB: Mainly play bluesy stuff but more instrumental with Sushi Train.

CH: So where can we catch you live?

JB: 3 Humps at Torquay Hotel this Sunday February 25, doors open at 4pm.

CH: Any national/international dates on the horizon?

JB: Not at the moment, played a few festival shows in Belgium last year after recording in England, Douceurs Belges was so much fun.

CH: Where can we hear the recordings you did in England?

JB: There’s a tune up on my sound cloud under Jasper Bingham, “Base Coat”. Ended up sampling an old recording of local surfer William Lord waxing his board. You can hear it in the rhythm section.

CH: You must have music in your blood.

JB: I suppose. Dad used to play a few bar chords here and there, the great Murray Bingham. Pretty sure he only played to impress mum though. I remember looking at him and thinking “Dad rips. Wish I was as good as Dad”.
