AIREYS Inlet marathon runner Ellie Pashley continued her strong run of form on the international stage, finishing inside the top 20 at another event for the second time in 2023.<\/p>\n
Pashley, 34, placed 13th in the world-renowned London Marathon on April 23, just two months after placing 19th overall at the World Athletics Cross Country Championships at Bathurst in February.<\/p>\n
Pashley was Australia’s fastest runner in the elite women’s field, as Dutch runner Sifan Hassan claimed victory on her debut in 2:18:33. Pashley finished the race with a time of 2:29:37.<\/p>\n
The result follows a quick turnaround following the birth Pashley’s daughter Tiggy 10 months ago.<\/p>\n
Australian wheelchair racer Madison de Rozario headlined the event as she pushed her way to her second victory at the prestigious event.<\/p>\n
De Rozario crossed the tape in 1:38:51, just one second ahead of Swiss rival and defending champion Manuela Schar.<\/p>\n
