MORE than $6,000 was raised to stop violence against women at an exhibition hosted by internationally published fashion and portrait photographer, Stevie van der Chys, in Geelong earlier this month.
\nAround 130 guests attended the SDVC Bodylove Series exhibition at The Geelong Club on March 8 to help raise money and awareness for the Full Stop Foundation.
\nThe foundation assists those affected by family and domestic violence in our community and Ms van der Chys said she uses photography to empower women.
\n\u201cEvery shoot is about connecting with that woman, giving her the love and reassurance she needs to feel her very best, and then showing her how amazing she is, through my eyes,\u201d she said.
\nAs well as a showcase of Ms van der Chys\u2019 images, guest speakers Corangamite MP Sarah Henderson and maternity support worker and founder of Birth Co, Meg Torpey shared their vision for a violence-free future for families.
\nA silent auction was held, with donors including Geelong Cats, Mercure Geelong, Crown Towers and Business Chicks.
\nDrinks were provided by Little Creatures and Austins Co with desserts by Bella Sweets and gift bags including products from Cotton On, Frank Body, Body Love Tea and Collective Hub.
