{"id":1042,"date":"2016-03-24T04:03:48","date_gmt":"2016-03-24T04:03:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/surfcoasttimes.com.au\/?p=1042"},"modified":"2017-12-08T14:05:26","modified_gmt":"2017-12-08T03:05:26","slug":"hunt-and-gather-family-fun-in-winchelsea","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/living\/hunt-and-gather-family-fun-in-winchelsea\/","title":{"rendered":"Hunt and Gather family fun in Winchelsea"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE Hunt and Gather festival is set to celebrate the best about country living when it comes to Winchelsea for the first time from March 31-April 3.<br \/>\nFeaturing regional produce, art and agriculture, and celebrating innovation in farming, manufacturing and services, the festival kicks off with two Field Days at Barwon Park Mansion, and culminates with the family-friendly Rabbit Art Rally and River Picnic exploring the historic town.<br \/>\nField Days will feature an extensive range of supplies from manufacturers, farmers, wineries food producers and family fun in Winchelsea more as well as cooking demonstrations from renowned local chefs, family entertainment and true country hospitality.<br \/>\nEvent organiser Stuart Fountain said Hunt and Gather was a unique mix of agriculture, art and entertainment.<br \/>\n\u201cThis event is expected to become one of the largest annual community gatherings in the region.<br \/>\n\u201cAlong with the Field Days, we have a massive local auction for the Uniting Church, which is something like eBay on a cricket oval, and the Rabbit Art Rally and River Picnic, which will be a great day out for families,\u201d he said.<br \/>\nThe Uniting Church Auction will be on Saturday April 2 at the local cricket ground, and is available to anyone who has something to sell \u2013 turn up early to register.<br \/>\nThe final event day includes a farmers\u2019 market and the much-anticipated Rabbit Art Rally and River Picnic.<br \/>\nParticipants will \u201chunt\u201d around town for five large rabbit sculptures created by local artists, then \u201cgather\u201d for a town picnic on the Barwon River.<br \/>\nHunt and Gather Winchelsea is part of the Eat Local Month food and wine festival.<br \/>\nFor further information or to register for Field Days, call organiser Stuart Fountain on 0417 160 559 or visit growingwinchelsea.com.au\/huntgather.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE Hunt and Gather festival is set to celebrate the best about country living when it comes to Winchelsea for the first time from March 31-April 3.
