{"id":108403,"date":"2023-07-04T04:00:51","date_gmt":"2023-07-03T18:00:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=108403"},"modified":"2023-07-03T16:02:34","modified_gmt":"2023-07-03T06:02:34","slug":"anglesea-newsagent-a-finalist-for-consecutive-state-gong","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/news\/anglesea-newsagent-a-finalist-for-consecutive-state-gong\/","title":{"rendered":"Anglesea newsagent a finalist for consecutive state gong"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ANGLESEA News &amp; Lotto is in the running for back-to-back Victorian and Australian Newsagents\u2019 Association (VANA) honours after being named state finalists once again this year.<\/p>\n<p>Led by Paul and Corinne Nigro, the Anglesea institution was announced as finalists on Monday morning by VANA in both the \u2018My Local Community Newsagent\u2019 and \u2018Victorian Newsagent of the Year\u2019 categories for 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Anglesea News &amp; Lotto has been a finalist in the Victorian Newsagent of the Year in both 2021 and 2022 and were the inaugural winner of the \u2018My Local Community Newsagent\u2019 in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>After tasting success with their first nomination for the community newsagent category, Mrs Nigro said it would be an honour to take out the state gong once again.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are pretty chuffed to be nominated again.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe certainly couldn\u2019t do it without our staff and the fantastic community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe other newsagents are so worthy of the titles, so to get a win again would be amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_108407\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-108407\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-108407 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/07\/IMG_4337_56960-600x380.jpg?_t=1688364117\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"380\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-108407\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Paul and Corinne&#8217;s Anglesea News &amp; Lotto was the winner of the &#8216;My Local Community Newsagent&#8217; category in 2022.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mrs Nigro said the key to Anglesea News &amp; Lotto\u2019s continued success is being proactive and willing to change for their customer\u2019s needs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe try our absolute best to understand and change accordingly to our customers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCOVID really highlighted it &#8211; we had to mix up some things and worked with other businesses within our community who couldn\u2019t stay open.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople come down to Anglesea to disconnect and reconnect \u2013 they get off the phones and buy books, puzzles, magazines and family games.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s about us being a hub for our community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s easy because we love what we do and we love our community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Highton Newsagency was also a finalist for the \u2018Victorian Newsagent of the Year\u2019 category.<\/p>\n<p>All divisional winners will be announced on August 19 at the Arts Centre Melbourne.<\/p>\n<p>Anglesea News &amp; Lotto can be found at 89 Great Ocean Road, Anglesea Victoria 3230.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ANGLESEA News &amp; Lotto is in the running for back-to-back Victorian and Australian Newsagents\u2019 Association (VANA) honours after being named state finalists once again this year.
