TORQUAY surfer Ben Considine said he is \u201cbeyond stoked\u201d to secure a seasonal wildcard onto the World Longboard Tour for 2023.<\/p>\n

For the first time in his career, Considine is guaranteed a spot in all four stops of the 2023 World Longboard Tour, the first of which kicks off at Huntington Beach in California on July 29.<\/p>\n

Considine, who found out yesterday about the announcement, said reading the letter from the World Surf League still felt surreal.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m absolutely blown away.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been a lifetime goal of mine to qualify for the World Longboard Tour and to be given an opportunity is just crazy.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been working so hard for this, particularly over the last few years.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m so excited to give it a go and compete against the world\u2019s best.\u201d<\/p>\n

Considine secured his seasonal wildcard through his elite performance in the WSL Longboard Qualifying Series events in Australia.<\/p>\n

Considine surfed to the podium in the Manly Longboard Classic and secured a semi-final finish at the Noosa Longboard Pro.<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old is the reigning Australian Open Men\u2019s Logger and Victorian Open Men\u2019s Logger champion.<\/p>\n

Considine said getting the seasonal wildcard has been made even more special knowing that Bells Beach will be one of the four events that he’ll compete in.<\/p>\n

“After Huntington Beach, we’ve got the first ever WSL World Longboard Tour event at Bells Beach which is super exciting.<\/p>\n

“It’s really special to know I’ll be competing here at my home ground with all my friends and family around.<\/p>\n

“I honestly can’t believe it’s happening and I can’t wait to give it a go.”<\/p>\n
