{"id":109304,"date":"2023-07-15T04:00:41","date_gmt":"2023-07-14T18:00:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=109304"},"modified":"2023-07-13T15:49:11","modified_gmt":"2023-07-13T05:49:11","slug":"roos-on-the-brink-of-historic-turnaround","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/sport\/roos-on-the-brink-of-historic-turnaround\/","title":{"rendered":"Roos on the brink of historic turnaround"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ANGLESEA Football Netball Club is in the midst of one of local sport&#8217;s biggest turnarounds following 13 rounds of Bellarine Netball League (BNL) action.<\/p>\n<p>The Roos&#8217; A Grade netball side is firmly in the hunt for a finals spot with five games to go, after a bottom-place finish in 2022 when the team recorded just four wins.<\/p>\n<p>Anglesea sits in a tie for fifth spot on the ladder with seven wins and six losses, equal on points with Barwon Heads (28) and three wins ahead of seventh-placed Newcomb.<\/p>\n<p>A Grade player-coach Bethany Keras said the team&#8217;s foundations were laid last year following on from former coach Tegan Philip&#8217;s work in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;ve got some new personnel in the side this year, some players have left for various commitments, but there are also some returning faces as well, which is really exciting.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A major focus for us this year is cultivating a great culture, and for my assistant coach Ali Villani and I, that&#8217;s been at the forefront of our season this year.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re all also just really enjoying ourselves and we&#8217;re enjoying playing together.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 284px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/07\/SGpAtCHt_03111.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"284\" height=\"426\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Anglesea player-coach Beth Keras says her side has cultivated a terrific culture in 2023.
