FROM a childhood training in classical music on her flute to an immersion in the sounds of rock legend Jimi Hendrix, Irish songstress Cara Robinson is one of a kind.<\/strong><\/p>\n

After meeting Aussie bluesman Hat Fitz at a Blues Festival in Ireland the pair went on to fall in love and form an electrifying act of their own.<\/p>\n

After marrying, the husband and wife duo have taken their show on the road, leaving crowds across continents begging for more of their explosive live performances.<\/p>\n

Original compositions steeped in folk and blues laced with an authentic gospel sound have made the pair festival favourites throughout Canada, Australia, Europe and the UK.<\/p>\n

Now residing on the sunshine coast internationally acclaimed Hat Fitz and Cara have been locked in for this year\u2019s National Celtic Festival in Portarlington taking place over the June 8-11 long weekend.<\/p>\n

With musical talents between them covering drums, flute, whistle, washboards and vocals and electric guitar, guitar and banjo Cara said their sound is tenacious.<\/p>\n

\u201cBoth our passion is the blues genre, it\u2019s quite gritty and it takes away the constant romance in the songs. Our music is something that we don\u2019t put our love for one another in every song,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of our songs \u201cDoing it Again\u201d was inspired by an escalating argument and that\u2019s something that came through for a song which I think is quite hilarious.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cara said they were looking forward to their first National Celtic Festival and said they were hoping their music would help crowds escape.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love when people arrive to our shows and have their shopping lists running through their heads and what they have to do and their daily worries and hopefully that\u2019s where our music can help them escape that,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cBring them into something more inspiring, feeling good about themselves and feeling like they\u2019ve had a connection and an experience; that kind of response makes our day.\u201d<\/p>\n
